October Development Report

Happy Halloween Everyone!

A lot has happended since the last post a month ago. Book Label 2012 has now been released and is now widely available with an array of enhancements. A new minor update to Password Memory was also released a few days ago.

A minor Movie Label was released too and another one is in the pipeline for release next week. A big enhancement in this new update is much faster cover art retrieval. Apart from that, 7.1.2 contains a number of fixes.

Music Label 2012 is rapidly getting closer to release too. Our beta crew will get access to it within a week. We just need to put a finishing touch on it first. This also means that ordering Music Label 2011 now entitles you to a free update to Music Label 2012 once released.

September Development Report

As the days get shorter we are working hard to light up your fall a little bit with improved products. Book Label 2012 has RTM’ed and the final release is imminent. The biggest enhancements: e-Pub support and text file (csv) import. You should take the application for a spin to find other enhancements and you will also notice the improved performance.

Minor updates are also being worked on for Movie Label, Music Label and Password Memory. Alongside the minor updates, bigger enhancements are being worked on for future updates :)

So make sure you keep an eye on our homepage over the next few weeks to find big and small updates for all our products.

August Development Report

A number of new updates have been released the last few days. All of them are pretty significant. Earlier this month Movie Label 2012 v7.1 was released, packed with core updates and an updated interface. Today a new 7.1 build was released fixing a bug in the anti-piracy wrapper and another one in the PDF export.

Music Label 2011 v17.2 was also released today with many of the core updates that Movie Label got earlier. And yesterday, Password Memory 4.1 was released with an updated interface, new translations and number of minor new enhancements.

A new Book Label 2012 release candidate was compiled yesterday and will be released shortly. This will be the final release candidate and the final release is will come at the end of the month.

Now I’m off to work on improving our products even further.. Enjoy the last weeks and days of summer!

July Development Report

Busiest summer ever? At least it feels like it. We currently have significant updates for all products close to release.

Movie Label and Music Label will be treated with even more performance optimizations, updated report engines, improved export and much more.

Movie Label and Password Memory will get the Office 2010 style ribbon. Music Label will also receive the latest spec ribbon later this year.

Book Label 2012 is also very close to release. The product is set to reach release candidate status on Monday.

If you are a beta crew member, make sure you head over to the beta forums to take the new beta versions for a spin.

The full list of new features added to the new updates will be announced as they are released, so make sure you keep an eye on our homepage.

May Development Report

Busy times! New updates for all our products are currently being tested in the beta/rc stage. Music Label and Password Memory are soon to receive minor product updates including both minor enhancements and a number of fixes. Movie Label and Book Label are soon due for major updates (that we are extremely excited about).

I’m keeping it short this month but hope I leave you with the feeling of some nice product updates coming your way. And as usual, make sure you send us your suggestions, questions, bug reports and testimonials. We appreciate all feedback and we always try to respond within a few hours.

Optimizing a Database

When you have used our products for a while and a number of database upgrades have been performed due to new versions, the database file will have allocated extra disk space (in order to perform the changes.)

Optimizing your database once in a while, especially if you have a large database, is a good idea. Optimizing (or reconstructing) the database is a very easy task and doing it every other year is more than enough.

All you need to do is to perform a backup and then, right after, restore the same backup. The database will then be reconstructed from the ground up using the backup. This will optimize the disk space used by the database.

As mentioned, this is by no means necessary and you will probably not notice any speed gains. But at least, now you know how to do it.

April Development Report

Its time for another development report. Since the last report we have gotten Password Memory 4 out the door and I’m glad to report it has been well received. Music Label 2011 and Book Label 2011 were also treated to updates. The Music Label update with some major performance enhancements and the Book Label update accomodating structure changes in online databases.

Work progress nice with minor updates for Music Label, Movie Label and Password Memory. No release dates for any of those have been set though. The major Book Label release is still on track for an early summer release. More information about this will follow soon.

And.. Make sure you keep your eyes on our blog for the upcoming, first information, about the next major version of Movie Label..

March Development Report

Currently working hard on preparing Password Memory 4 for release. If no major problem arise, we aim to release it this week. So keep you eyes on our website for it.

Also working hard on improving the Movie Label download engine and so far the updated engine is almost five times faster (!!) than the current one (featured in 6.2.1). On the same machine with the same database, the existing version downloaded the movie info for the test movie in 23 seconds. The new updated engine does the same job in 5 seconds! Hopefully we can shave of a little more time there before we are finished :)

That is all for now.

February Development Report

A couple of days ago we released a new minor Movie Label 2011 update containing a few enhancements and fixes. Work on the product continues at the same high speed though and next we intend to update to the latest version of the ribbon interface (found in Office 2010).

Another Music Label 2011 update is also in the works and it will contain a number of enhancements requested by users. This update has yet to receive a release date but we aim to release it in the end of March.

Last month I mentioned that a new major version of Password Memory is under development. This month I can reveal that the new version will be treated with support for credit cards. It will also be even more secure by checking your passwords against a list of thousands of common passwords. Our aim is to have the most secure password manager on the market.
