As you might have seen we have refreshed the homepage, so any comments or suggestions are more than welcome. We will be tweaking it a bit over the coming weeks.

A ReadOnly mode is currently being added to Music Label 2010 and will be included in the next update. It will be pretty basic in the beginning and with your help we will improve it and make it more customizable over time.

We are also working on a small update for Movie Label 2011 that will being a few minor enhancements to the table.

The first Book Label 2010 maintenance release was also released a few weeks ago. It fixes the upgrade problems a few users experienced when moving from older versions.

The next Password Memory update is only in the planning state yet. I can say as much as it will bring a number of nice additions though.

Bringing full Unicode support and using the latest Firebird Database Engine among other things. If you experienced any issues upgrading from previous versions, rest assured, Mikael is already working on a small update to fix all minor issues.

The Music Label 2010 update is still being held off to track down a few rare issues that are very hard to reproduce. We hope to release the update in the first half of June though.

Work has also started on the next minor Movie Label 2011 update but more about that in next month’s development report.

Only a few minor adjustments and installation tests remain. This feels great since all our products will then fully support Unicode (which is the main milestone of the 2010 editions). Movie Label 2011 v6.0.2 is very close to release and should be released before the end of the month. This minor new update is mainly focusing on fixing the issue reported by users since the release of 6.0 (and 6.0.1).

The new Music Label 2010 update is also currently undergoing beta testing and feels solid. The aim is to release the final version before the end of the month. It might, however, be pushed into the beginning of May.

Movie Label 2011 is about to get its first minor update (6.0.1) soon. It is already nearing the end of the beta testing stage and is almost ready for release.

Book Label 2010 has reached Beta 2 and is becoming more stable each day. Member’s of our beta crew have access to the beta and are currently running their tests. Full focus is now on fixing the remaining issues and optimizing performance.

An update for Music Label 2010 is also being worked on and a beta should be released before then end of the month with a final version in April. The focus of the update is to fix all user reported issues.

Finally, a new Password Memory 2010 update is very close to a public beta. Like the Music Label beta, it will be available before the end of the month.

We are very excited about this new version that we feel brings a lot of fresh developments that will make the product even more useful (and easy to use). Movie Label 2011 will be released to our existing customers ahead of everyone else later this month (if no show-stopping issue is discovered).

Music Label 2010 v16.0.3 and Movie Label 2010 5.1.6 will be released at the same time as Movie Label 2011 is launched.

The delayed Book Label 2010 v3.0 Beta is also bound to be released any day now. It has taken some extra time to locate and fix the last known issues. As you might understand, rebuilding the whole program core to support Unicode is a major undertaking..

We have been listening closely to our customers and worked hard to improve almost every part of Movie Label.

Alongside the update development for Movie Label 2010 during the last nine months, we have been working hard on the next major version of Movie Label. This time around we have been trying to improve everything, even the basics such as the handling of the views.

We wanted you, the blog readers, to get the first peak at what’s new in Movie Label 2011 (version 6):

Select view type for any view.

Totally new view handling

The view handling has been rewritten from the ground up in Movie Label 2011. We have also moved Wanted Items and Loans into the movie section (where we feel they belong). It is also possible to show any view as a list, as thumbnails or as cards.

New loan management

The loan management has been re-done and improved. Among other things we added Skype integration for quick, easy (and cheap) reminders.

Tons of improvements for movies on your harddrive

Multiple files can now be added to one movie (since a lot of people split their movies into several files). Technical data such as codec, video size, framerate, etc is automatically retrieved from the movie files.
The import routine has also been completely rewritten after closely listening to user feedback.

Movie Label automatically adds technical file data

Interface updates

A lot of effort has been put into making the interface better so a lot of dialogs have been re-designed.

In-program download preview

You can now preview movie information within the program before downloading data. Going to an external webpage is no longer needed to make sure you are downloading the correct movie (when there are several with the same title).

Searching and sorting improved

Searching and sorting has been improved by adding more search and sort capabilities to the wanted items and on loan views.

Print preview has received a big update (incl. PDF export)

Improved print preview

The print preview now got the same ribbon interface as the rest of the product. It also features PDF export among other things. The thumbnail and card views now also have improved preview layout. All views can also be printed and exported in Movie Label 2011.

My Collection page added

We have added a “start-page” to the product that shows some brief statistics, your latest additions, database size, etc.

Improved performance

As usual we have been working on improving the performance in the latest version.

This and much, much more is new in the upcoming Movie Label 2011. No official release date has been set, but if you buy Movie Label 2010 today, you will receive Movie Label 2011 for free when it is released later this spring.

How times flies! As last year, the first release of the year is Password Memory. This year it is only a minor update that contains one important fix (for the problem with long user names) and a Persian translation. Password Memory 2010 v3.0.1 will be released tomorrow.

An update to the view print preview is also under construction (for both Movie Label 2010 and Music Label 2010). Among other things, PDF export will be added.

Book Label 2010 is soon ready for beta testing. A public beta session will follow the closed beta that will be made available to our beta crew. Keep an eye on our Forums for the download link.
