Manually updating cover art

The fastest way to manually add cover art in Music Label and Movie Label is to copy an image from e.g. your webbrowser and pasting it on an item by clicking ‘Use Image from Clipboard (CTRL+I). This will update the cover art of the currently selected item with the image in the Windows clipboard.

To get the image into the clipboard, simply right-click an image in your browser and choose ‘Copy’ from the popup menu.

Don’t forget to backup

I can’t stress it enough.. Do not forget to backup your database(s) regularly. It keeps your data safe in case of computer problems and makes you sleep better :)

Note that both Music Label and Movie Label got an Auto Backup feature that performs of the current database each time you close the program. This is good if you do not have the routine to regularly perform backups otherwise. Auto Backup can be turned on in the Options dialog.

It is also possible to set the number of backups to save before overwriting the oldest one. This is a nice feature if you want to be able to go back in time.

Backups should always be created on the local harddrive (for reliability reasons). Since harddrives crash now and then it is a good idea to copy the latest backup to a removable media now and then.

How wide should I make this field?

When editing or creating reports, it might be hard to visualize how wide to make the fields when only the field name is shown. Sure you can set the AutoSize property to ‘True’ but when creating reports you want to control the field size in most situations. I know I want to control it at least 9 times out of ten.

Instead of switching between Design and Preview eveytime you can enable ‘Show Data’ from the View-menu in the Report Editor:

Show Data

This will fill your fields with data from your database when you are in Design mode. Good luck with your report creation!
