Book Label 2009 Beta 1 finally released

The first beta version of Book Label 2009 has just been released and is available for download from the Beta Forums. The first thing you will notice in the new beta is that Book Label now got the new ribbon interface featured in our other products. The new version also got a totally re-written download engine (that will enable us to add more sources in the near future).

Late summer development report

Just wanted to give you a quick update on the latest development news on all our products. As you might have noticed, we released new maintenance releases for Movie Label 2009 and Music Label 2009 earlier today. Book Label 2009 v2.0 Beta 1 is scheduled for release on August 29. Password Memory 2009 v2.0 will be released in September.

I am also happy to report that we have started the work to implement Unicode support in our products. This means we will be able to support translations and data from any language.

Changing the thumbnail size

Both Music Label and Movie Label let you change the size of the cover art thumbnails in the thumbnails view. To change their size, open the Options dialog (from the Application menu in the top-left corner). On the page titled Popular, you can then change the height of the thumbnails:
Change Thumbnail Size in Options

Change Thumbnail Size in Options

Note that this setting will only affect the thumbnails in the thumbnails view. Also note that larger thumbnails will not affect performance.

Easiest way to add a DVD box

Godfather Trilogy Box
Godfather Trilogy Box

When you add movies to Movie Label, each movie is placed on a separate media (unless you are manually adding the info). This raises an issue when adding e.g. DVD boxes, since the movies usually belong to the same media.

If you want to download information about all movies and still want them to belong to the same media, this is how to do it:
  1. Start by scanning the movies one by one, like you usually would.
  2. Rename the Media Title of the first item to match the name of the box (e.g. “Godfather Trilogy”).
  3. Select the second movie of the set in the Movie view and click the “Move Movie” button on the Data-page of the toolbar. Make sure you select the option “Delete source media if empty”. Do the same thing for rest of the movies from the set.

It’s as easy as that..
