November Development Report

There is a lot of activity at the moment, with updates being developed for all products. A Password Memory 2010 Release Candidate is very near. The second beta proved very stable and only a few minor fixes are being fixed and tested for RC1. Book Label 2010 is scheduled to hit internal alpha testing next week, introducing full Unicode support.

Movie Label 2010 v5.1.4 is currently undergoing final testing before its release next week. This is only a minor maintenance release. A minor Music Label 2010 update is also being developed and more information will be presented as soon as it hits beta state. Both Movie Label and Music Label will get a Russian translation with their next updates.

Johan Petersson

October Development Report

Half of our products are now released in 2010 editions with full Unicode support. The other half is currently under steady development to reach the same goals. The third version of Book Label is still in the early stages of development and is now, finally, running on Firebird 2. Password Memory 3 is closer to beta. We aim to issue the first closed beta within a week. Minor maintenance releases for Music Label and Movie Label are also under development with December as preliminary release date.

Take full advantage of the Query Builder

As you most likely already noticed, the new 2010 editions of our products have a new search bar called the Query Builder. This new bar is meant as a replacement for Common Searches and Advanced Find. We wanted to create something that makes it easier for you to perform searches and in fewer clicks. Judging by the response we have received so far, we are on the right path.

Query Builder

Query Builder

There are also some nice tricks you can do to take full advantage of the Query Builder. It is obvious that you can list all movies produced in 2009 by choosing Production Year and typing ’2009′. If you wanted to show all movies except those produced in 2009 though, all you need to do is to type a ! before the value: ‘!2009′ and all movies except those produced in 2009 will be listed. Not only that, with numeric fields such as rating, you can type > or < first (e.g. ‘>3.5′) to show movies higher or lower than a specific value.

Hope this helps!

Movie Label 2010 in Chinese

Chinese Movie OrganizerIn the upcoming 5.1.3 update to Movie Label 2010 we are making full use of the Unicode support by including a Chinese- and a Traditional Chinese translation. We are very excited about this since we are one of the first full-featured movie organizers available in Chinese.

The new update will also bring some speed optimizations, a few minor new features and fixes for a few issues found in 5.1.2.

The new 5.1.3 updated is scheduled for release within 10 days.

September Development Report

Yesterday was a big day! We have been talking about a Unicode version of Music Label for ages now. And yesterday, finally, we released Music Label 2010, re-built from the ground to support Unicode. You should definitely download the trial version (if you haven’t already) and take it for a spin. The new version is faster with any database and MUCH faster with large databases and network databases.

We also released a minor Movie Label 2010 update yesterday containing a number of minor (but still pretty exciting) enhancements.

Hard work is also being done to finish testing Book Label running on Firebird 2.1 which will be a pretty big improvement for our Book Label users. The first steps has also been taken towards the next major version of Book Label, with support for Unicode.

The first steps towards the next major version of Password Memory is also being taken. Password Memory is also being rebuilt to support Unicode.

Johan Petersson

August Development Report

Time flies! We have finally released the first Music Label 2010 beta version and are anxious to hear back from our beta testers. As you probably know the new Music Label update has been rebuilt from the ground up to support Unicode. This and a lot of other enhancements will make this year’s product an exciting update.

Book Label 2009 v2.2 has also been released including a number of great enhancements so make sure you update right away. The next step will be to finally lift Book Label to use Firebird Database Engine 2.x. This is already under way and progressing nicely.

July Development Report

First of all I just wanted to let you know that the lack of posts here during the last months is due to a problem in the latest release (2.8.x) of the blog software we use; WordPress. Two patches have been released but WordPress has yet to solve the problem..

Now, let’s take a look at our products.

As some of you noticed, the latest release of Movie Label 2010 caused an error message when trying to access Wanted Items. This problem only affected some systems and we could not reproduce it here at first. This problem has since been fixed, though, and version 5.1.1 is being prepared for release right now.

The beta version of the next-generation Music Label has been pushed forward a bit. A few new functions need a bit more testing before they are ready for a broader release.

The first Book Label 2009 v2.2 release candidate is now available for download from the Forums. This new release got a number of important new features so make sure you check it out.

Best,
Johan Petersson
