Tutorial #1 - Adding your Movies
Since getting your data into the database is
the biggest task, Movie Label is written to make
your job as hassle free as possible. Data about
DVDs, Blu-Rays, VHS tapes, etc are downloaded
from the Internet (IMDB and Amazon). This
tutorial takes you through the process of adding
your movie collection to the database.
Adding Movies
Make
sure you are in the Movie section and then click
the New-button in the toolbar. The Movie Query
function will open. Start by typing the name of
the movie that you wish to add (or at least part
of the name) and click the Search-button. All
matches are shown in a list within a second or
two and you can simply select the movie you wish
to add to your database by selecting the desired
row. It is then possible to set assign a
fields (like Media and Region Code) before you
click the 'Add to Download Queue'-button. The
movie will then be placed in a download queue to
be downloaded later (when you click the
'Download Queue to database'-button).
To add another movie; type the name of it and
follow the same procedure as before. When you
have added all the movies you wish to add for
now; click the 'Download Queue to
Database'-button and all movies you have added
to the queue will be downloaded from the
Internet and added to your database.
Tips: If you always assign the same Media and
Region Code; you can simply double-click the
movie you wish to add (and it will be added to
the Download Queue).
Adding
TV-Series
Adding TV-Series is similar to adding movies,
you start by clicking the New-button in the
toolbar. Then make choose 'TV-Series' in the
What to Add dropdown box. Now type the name of
the series e.g. 24 or CSI or Friends. Then in
the Season-field; select the season to download
episode info for. The rest of the procedure is
similar to adding movies (see 'Adding Movies'
above).
Manual Input
Movies that can't be found using the Movie Query
function can be added manually. To manually add
a movie click the arrow part of the New-button
and choose 'Movie'.
