Exactly one year has passed since we released Music Label 2011 with totally rewritten view functionality. During the year we released several small, free updates improving performance and functionality.

Now, after months and months of coding and testing, we are proud to present the best version of Music Label yet. This new version is all about evolution and performance.

Let's take a look at some of the news in version 18:

Major performance enhancements

By rewriting large parts of the core functionality we have managed to improve performance and stability. You will also notice a big improvement in memory usage.

Office 2010 style ribbon

We have updated the ribbon (toolbar) to the latest specifications (found in Office 2010 among other products). We have also added the latest specification application menu to the product.

Previous / Next buttons in album properties

You can now move between the albums in a view within the album properties dialog by pressing the previous/next buttons.

Updated album properties dialog

We have updated the album properties dialog to make information more accessible. More information is now shown on open, tracks are always visible and the segments page is hidden by default.

Improved loan management

Among other things it is now possible to specify a due date for a loan. We have also added various functionality revolving the due date.

Improved handling of box sets

Among other things we have made it easier to remove an album from a box set.

Interface updates

A lot of effort has been put into making the interface better so a lot of dialogs have been re-designed.

Odd row coloring

You can now choose to have every other row in the list views in a slightly different color.

Updated Preview engine

Printing/Previewing views has been further improved in Music Label 2012. It has also gotten a visual overhaul with the latest spec ribbon.

Enhanced search and sort

New fields have been added for you to search and sort by.

Selected count on status bar

The status bar now shows the number of items you have selected in the current view (in addition to the total number of items).

Improved Cover Art retrieval

Retrieving cover art is now much faster.

Minor improvements

The demo data question (when creating a new database) has been replaced with a check box in the Database Operations dialog. A function to copy music files to a secondary location has been added to the right-click menu. The splash screen can now be hidden. The ability to export views to XLSX (the Excel 2007-) has also been added to Music Label 2012.

Edition Changes

The Export function has been moved to the Professional Edition. The Professional Edition now includes 3 licenses (for one network). Most export functionality has also been moved to the Professional Edition.
